Primary qualifications: BSc MBChB Bristol 1998 MRCSEd MRCGP
Dr Mays graduated from Bristol University Medical School in 1998. He completed Basic Surgical Training in 2002 with Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. After two years of Higher Surgical Training in Orthopaedics, Dr Mays moved to training in General Practice, and gained his MRCGP in 2006. Dr Mays joined the team at Claremont in 2015, having previously been a full-time partner in General Practice elsewhere in Devon. Dr Mays has also had an interest in healthcare leadership and management since 2010, gaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership Development from the Royal College of General Practitioners and the University of Exeter Business School in 2012.
When not working at Claremont, Dr Mays is the lead GP assisting with the design and delivery of services for the diagnosis and management of cancer for Devon and Cornwall.
Dr Mays has a long-suffering wife, three children, and a dog.
